Like the bayeux tapestry, the rolls consume and digest information, revising and recalling the content throughout the spiritual activity of drawing as a system of memory and reproduction of signs and symbols.
I’m interested in change and its place in the materials I use, the drawing process reveals the liberty and pleasure of the preliminary marks made by hot air, steam, gas flames and candles -
as Jean Luc Nancy writes in ‘The Line's Desire’ from Pleasure in Drawing:
“what reveals itself and what draws itself in an incessantly renewed way is nothing other than this: that the world never confirms to a pre given plan but it's truth is inextricable from it's drawing/design in perpetual formation and transformation.’
